MCHA & CGHA mission:

To promote adequate and affordable housing, economic opportunity, and a suitable living environment, free from discrimination to those who have barriers due to income or disability. The Mid-Columbia Housing Authority (MCHA) also administers housing programs for the Columbia Gorge Housing Authority (CGHA) and provides all staff support for Columbia Cascade Housing Corporation (CCHC), an affiliated non-profit organization.

Our Governance:

✦ In 2002, the counties of Hood River, Wasco and Sherman formed separate housing authorities. MCHA was then created as the Regional Housing Authority. MCHA is governed by our nine commissioners appointed by the respective governing bodies of Hood River, Sherman and Wasco counties and also includes one resident advisor.

✦ In 2002, the City of Goldendale, Klickitat County and Skamania County passed ordinances to organize a Regional Housing Authority. Through a consortia agreement created in 2008, CGHA has designated MCHA as lead agency in administering programs. CGHA is governed by our five commissioners appointed by the respective governing bodies of Skamania County, Klickitat County and City of Goldendale.
